"An increased investment in education at all levels, starting with early childhood education is important, and is an investment in the future. "
I am the father of two small children, 1,5 and 4 years old, and senior researcher, associate professor of molecular genetics. This is why I believe that research and education are very important for the future of the society. I am outgoing and active, have traveled quita a lot, and lived for instance in Japan and Sweden. Now that the pandemic is (hopefully) beginning to vanish, it is important to get all sectors of society up and running, so that Helsinki again becomes a dynamic and functional city.

Early childhood education
An increased investment in education at all levels, starting with early childhood education is important, and is an investment in the future.
Upper secondary school and vocational training
More should be invested in upper secondary education, vocational training and higher education institutions, as this is important for the future labour market in Finland. There should be good opportunities to study especially in Swedish, but also in English and other languages.
Helsinki is becoming a more multicultural city all the time. It is important that everyone, regardless of gender, ethnic or cultural background, is included and has the opportunity to study and work, thereby actively participating in society. Structural racism, i.e. that it may be more difficult to find a job because of ones ethnic background, should therefore be discouraged.
